King & Spalding has re-elected its chair Robert Hays, who has led the firm since 2006, to a seventh term.
Over Hays’ tenure as chairman the firm has grown from a regional operation with five offices to a global firm with 1,300 lawyers and 23 offices. Revenue more than tripled to $2.02 billion in 2022, and profits per partner rose to $4.7 million from $1.3 million in 2006.
His election to another term “underscores his vision and unwavering commitment to the success of our firm and all of its people,” said Zach Fardon of the firm’s policy committee said in a statement.
Hays’ new three-year term began on Jan. 1. The firm’s success “reflects the collective grit and dedication of our people,” he said.
The firm recently opened up offices in Denver and Miami and obtained a foreign law license in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
