Kay Jewelers Worker Fails to Revive Age Bias, Retaliation Case

A former Kay Jewelers district manager who says the chain demoted him after he complained about a supervisor’s purportedly ageist remarks failed to show he deserves a new shot at his claims, a federal appeals court said Thursday.

The worker didn’t put forth evidence that would allow a reasonable jury to side with him on his age discrimination and retaliation allegations, so there’s no reason to overturn a district judge’s decision granting summary judgment to Kay, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said in an unpublished opinion.
