K2 Intelligence, the investigative and consulting firm founded by billionaire Jules Kroll and his son Jeremy in 2009, announced it is opening an office in downtown Los Angeles.

The company last year hired Brant Tinsley, an investigator who was based in Los Angeles and focuses on “business intelligence,” including investigations related to pretransactional due diligence, fraud, litigation and other areas.

Before this, Tinsley was managing director in the Los Angeles office of Kroll Associates — the company that Jules Kroll sold to Marsh & McLennan Companies in 2004 for approximately $1.9 billion.

In addition to Tinsley, Jordan Arnold will help staff K2 Intelligence’s Los Angeles office. Arnold, who is based in New York and previously worked as an assistant district attorney in Manhattan, said he will focus servicing “private clients,” which include celebrities and high-net worth individuals. This practice includes everything from home security assessments, cyber security advice, background checks for family office staffing and art risk advisory services.

K2 Intelligence now reports having 300 employees and other offices in Geneva, London, Madrid, New York and Tel Aviv.
