Jason Nelms has joined K&L Gates Straits Law as a partner in the asset management and investment funds practice in Singapore, the firm said Wednesday.
Nelms, who joins from Morrison Foerster, advises Asia-based and US sponsors and investors in the structuring, formation, and offering of private investment funds, according to K&L Gates.
He also counsels investment firms and their principals in the purchase and sale of significant minority interests in asset management businesses as well as provides advice to fund sponsors on management company structuring, carried interest plans, shareholders’ agreements, and related internal governance matters, K&L Gates said.
