Juniper Awarded $5.9 Million in Fees for Finjan Patent ‘Fiasco’

Finjan Inc. must pay Juniper Networks Inc. $5.9 million in attorneys’ fees and costs in a patent infringement suit the court previously called a “fiasco” that “wasted a great deal of everyone’s time and energy.”

Judge William Alsup of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California adopted a special master’s recommendation on fees over objections from both parties. He also agreed sanctions weren’t warranted against Finjan because the conduct of its attorneys was properly addressed by the fee award.
