Judge OKs USAA’s $3.25 Million Settlement in Data Breach Suit

United Services Automobile Association, better known as the insurer USAA, got the final green light from a federal judge on a $3.25 million settlement resolving a lawsuit from a class of policy holders impacted by a data breach.

Judge Vincent L. Briccetti gave the settlement agreement final approval on Wednesday, ruling due and adequate notice had been given to the more than 22,000 policy holders who sued, according to a final order and judgment in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. Briccetti also certified the proposed class for settlement purposes only.
