Jones Day Lands a Boston-Based Cybersecurity Crime Prosecutor

Jones Day has hired Assistant U.S. Attorney Amy Harman Burkart in Boston to be of counsel to its cybersecurity, privacy & data protection practice.

She’d been the chief of the cybercrime unit at the U.S. attorney’s office there since 2017. Burkart joined the prosecutor’s office in 2010. Jones Day announced her hiring on Tuesday.

It comes amid several Big Law moves to bulk up their ranks of cybersecurity and data protection lawyers, particularly in Boston, as safeguarding such data has become a bigger priority for clients.
