John Muir Health Cleared for $950,000 Retirement Plan Class Deal

John Muir Health finalized a $950,000 class settlement with employees challenging the hospital system’s retirement plan fees and how it handles plan money forfeited by departing workers.

Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín granted final approval to the deal Monday, saying it covers about 20,000 people and requires John Muir to look for a new retirement plan recordkeeper. She also awarded class counsel more than $260,000 in attorneys’ fees and costs.
