JetBlue Gets New Law Head After CEO Change, Spirit Deal Bust (1)

JetBlue Airways Corp. announced Monday evening that Eileen McCarthy, a 14-year legal veteran of the low-cost carrier, is coming back as its general counsel and corporate secretary.

McCarthy, currently a deputy general counsel at automation software company UiPath Inc., will return as of Aug. 5. She succeeds JetBlue’s current legal chief Brandon Nelson, who has spent nearly two decades working for the airline.

Nelson’s departure follows JetBlue’s decision to abandon its $3.8 billion acquisition of discount carrier Spirit Airlines Inc. in early March, less than two months after a federal judge blocked the deal on antitrust grounds. Robin Hayes ...
