Jenner & Block Hires House Speaker Johnson’s Ex-General Counsel

Ashley Callen, US House Speaker Mike Johnson’s former general counsel, is joining Jenner & Block, the firm announced Monday.

Callen will co-chair of the firm’s congressional investigations practice group. In her role with Johnson, Callen advised on ethics, oversight, investigations, and personnel, according to Jenner & Block. She had previously served as general counsel to House Majority Leader Steve Scalise.

“Her insights into the inner workings of Congress are valuable additions to our team, which is why Jenner identified Ashley as a top recruit more than six months ago,” firm leaders Ishan Bhabha and Randy Mehrberg said in a statement. ...
