Honeywell Gets Early Appeal in Body Armor False Claims Suit

Honeywell International Inc. may immediately ask an appeals court to consider whether it owes the government statutory damages in a False Claims Act suit accusing the company of providing defective body armor to law enforcement agencies, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said.

In a November 2020 ruling in this 13-year-old case, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia found the damages Honeywell was liable for was $35 million. Other defendants in the body armor supply chain who had also been sued and had already settled for $36 million.
