A federal court has dismissed a false claims case against the president and chief executive officer of a body armor company.
The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said Richard C. Davis has honored terms of a settlement agreement announced by the Justice Department on July 16. That, the court found, ends a case alleging that his company, Second Chance Body Armor Inc., sold defective Zylon bullet-proof vests to law-enforcement agencies in violation of the False Claims Act.
The settlement provides for Davis to pay $1.2 million in previously frozen assets plus $125,000.
