Matthew Petersen and Morley Fortier III have joined Holland & Knight from Reed Smith as partners in Chicago, the firm said Tuesday.
Petersen, who will head the Chicago corporate, M&A, and private equity practice, focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, commercial contracts, and strategic counseling, according to Holland & Knight.
Fortier works on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, and corporate governance issues for private equity funds and independent sponsors as well as their portfolio companies, according to the firm.
Petersen also served as managing partner of Reed Smith’s Chicago office, vice chair of the business and finance department, and practice group leader for the US corporate practice group, Holland & Knight said.
