- Scott MacCormack joins as partner
- He led Davis Wright for three years
Holland & Knight hired Seattle-based Scott MacCormack, the former Davis Wright Tremaine managing partner who stepped down last year, as the firm seeks to boost its presence in the Pacific Northwest.
MacCormack has joined the firm’s corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and securities practice group as a partner, Holland & Knight said Thursday.
MacCormack served as Davis Wright Tremaine’s leader from 2021 until March 2024, when he suddenly stepped down. The firm and MacCormack did not give an explanation for his move at the time.
The Seattle-founded firm then embarked on a six-month internal search for a new leader. Davis Wright Tremaine in September elected litigator and vice chair of its executive committee, Jaime Drozd, as its new managing partner.
MacCormack advises clients on business transactions, M&A and finance in highly regulated industries, including energy, energy technology, infrastructure, maritime and aerospace, in their combinations and transactions.
For Holland & Knight, MacCormack’s hiring expands the firm’s Pacific Northwest presence beyond “our already significant operations in Portland,” firm chair and CEO Bob Grammig said in a statement.
MacCormack added in the statment that Holland & Knight’s “commitment to strategic growth, along with its collaborative culture and strong capabilities across a variety of practices and sectors, make it an ideal destination for this new stage of my career.”
