HILL TECH BRIEF: Social Media Urged to Stop Leaked Documents

The White House is urging social media companies to prevent the circulation of information that could hurt national security as it works to clean up an intelligence leak that exposed US spy assessments on Ukraine’s defenses and other sensitive topics.

“We do believe that social media companies have a responsibility to their users, and to the country, to manage the private-sector infrastructure that they create and now operate,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Thursday.
