Kramer Levin’s Paris office won’t be part of the firm’s merger with Herbert Smith Freehills.
The office is Kramer Levin’s only base outside of the US. Without it, the merged firm still has a Paris presence in Herbert Smith Freehills’ office in the French capital, housing around 113 lawyers, including 35 partners, according to the firm’s website.
“This combination is about our ambitions for future growth in the US, and Kramer Levin Paris will not be part of the combined firm,” Herbert Smith Freehills said in a statement Tuesday. Kramer Levin didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
