Haynes Boone Adds Ex-DOJ Counselor Qian to Appellate Team

Michael Qian joined Haynes Boone as a partner in its Supreme Court and appellate practice groups in Dallas and Washington, D.C., the firm announced Tuesday.

Qian clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Ketanji Brown Jackson before serving as counselor to the attorney general of the United States. As counselor to the attorney general, Qian advised senior officials on complex legal and policy issues and was involved in civil litigation facing the federal government, the firm said.

He joins from the Justice Department.
