Harvard Picks Conservative Lawyer to Serve on Powerful Board (2)

Harvard Corp., the powerful body that oversees the richest and oldest US university, selected lawyer Kannon Shanmugam to serve as a member as the school faces unprecedented attacks from the US government.

Shanmugam, who graduated from Harvard College and its law school, succeeds lawyer Ted Wells, who’s stepping down at the end of June after 12 years, Harvard said in a statement Thursday after the university commencement ceremony.
