Gupta Loses Third Set of Lawyers Before Trafigura Nickel Trial

Prateek Gupta, the alleged fraudster pursued by trading giant Trafigura Group, has lost his third set of commercial lawyers, throwing his defense in an upcoming London trial into doubt.

Gupta is no longer represented by Larson LLP, according to a court filing Friday, issued a little over a week before the trial is due to start. Trafigura is bringing the claim in an attempt to recover the more than half a billion dollars it lost in an alleged nickel fraud.

Larson becomes the third commercial law firm to formally step away from representing Gupta since Trafigura began proceedings. ...
