Grassley Blames Democrats For No Clean-Energy Deal Last Year

Senate Democrats and Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) are in a public dispute over tax legislation related to renewable energy.

Grassley on Wednesday said Democrats’ insistence on expanding the electric vehicle tax credit caused broader clean energy negotiations to fall apart at the end of last year. His letter came after more than two dozen Senate Democrats pushed Grassley to hold a hearing on energy-related tax legislation and criticized a lack of action on energy tax bills overall.
