GOP’s Ramaswamy Pitches Crypto Deregulation: Crypto in DC

Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy is pledging to rescind most federal regulations on the digital assets industry and drastically shrink the Securities and Exchange Commission’s manpower as part of his crypto plan announced last week.

Ramaswamy’s proposals, the first crypto plan announced by a Republican candidate, runs counter to growing calls from his own party as well as Democratic lawmakers to bolster investor protections and set more stringent regulations following the collapse of Sam Bankman-Fried’s FTX.
