Google Sued by NovaCloud Over Cloud, Advertising Tech Patents

A patent licensing company sued Google for allegedly using five patented technologies without permission in its cloud computing and advertising services, seeking unspecified damages.

NovaCloud Licensing LLC filed the lawsuit Monday in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. NovaCloud was formed in 2024 to manage patents originally developed by telecommunications company Ericsson. The complaint alleges Google has infringed patents covering cloud computing management, data security, database systems, advertising technology, and network services.
