Google is not unlawfully dominating the GPS navigation market, a federal appeals court held Thursday, saying the suing companies failed to plausibly allege antitrust law or anti-tying restriction violations.
Digital advertising business Dream Big Media and other plaintiffs’ lawsuit against Google was rightly dismissed by a district court, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said in an unpublished per curiam opinion, affirming dismissal.
The plaintiff companies allege they were forced to buy Google’s Places application programming interfaces after they bought Google’s APIs to display or use maps on their websites, despite preferring competing APIs.
