Goodwin, Kirkland Advise as TA Associates, TPG Buy Planview

Goodwin Procter advised private equity firm TA Associates, and Ropes & Gray advised TPG’s private equity arm, on their joint $1.6 billion deal to buy project-management software maker Planview.

According to a statement, Kirkland & Ellis is advising Planview and private equity firm Thoma Bravo, which is Planview’s existing majority shareholder and will retain a minority interest in the company.

Planview says its portfolio management and work management solutions help companies transform their strategies to enterprise scale and “adapt to the changing world of work.”
