GM Hires IBM’s Top AI Governance Lawyer as Ex-Law Head Exits (1)

General Motors Co. has hired Christina Montgomery, a 30-year legal veteran at International Business Machines Corp., as its new chief privacy and trust officer.

Montgomery had a key role overseeing IBM’s artificial intelligence governance, data, and privacy program. In that position, she testified before Congress on potential AI-related regulations and served on the Commerce Department’s AI advisory committee during the Biden administration. Montgomery also chaired IBM’s AI ethics board, a multidisciplinary team tasked with developing ethical policies and practices for AI technology.
