The body that sets global accounting standards said Tuesday that it would publish proposals for setting up a new body to set binding sustainability reporting rules.
The IFRS Foundation will produce definitive proposals for setting up a new sustainability standards board in September, with a view to the new body starting work during the United Nations Climate Change Conference 26 in November. The foundation said it would establish “a roadmap with timelines” in September, mapping out the steps toward creating the new board.
