Girardi Keese Lawyer Seeks to Shift Blame Over State Bar Charges

Former Girardi Keese lawyer Robert Finnerty’s past colleague, convicted ex-lawyer Tom Girardi, is to blame for failing to fulfill settlement payments, not him, his counsel argued before the California State Bar Court Tuesday.

Finnerty was one of the few people trying to help the Ruigomez family receive their portion of a $53 million settlement in the years they weren’t receiving payments, Finnerty’s counsel, Irean Zhang Swan of Rosing Pott & Strohbehn LLP, said during opening arguments of Finnerty’s trial.
