Gibson Dunn Sued Over Recruiting Fee by Former Lawyer’s Firm (1)

A recruiting firm headed by a former Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP associate in Los Angeles says the firm circumvented an agreement with his recruiting company and secretly hired a proffered candidate without paying the agreed upon referral fee.

According to a complaint filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Lateral Link Group Inc. was founded by lawyer-turned-recruiter Michael Allen. The suit alleges Lateral Link and Gibson Dunn agreed that Lateral Link was entitled to receive a fee of 25% of a candidate’s estimated initial annual salary when the law firm hired a candidate introduced by Lateral Link.
