Kira Idoko has joined Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher as a partner in the investment funds practice group in New York, the firm said Monday.
She will focus on the formation, negotiation, and operation of private funds, the firm said.
Idoko joins the firm from Brookfield Asset Management, where she was the senior vice president of private funds for seven years. She also held the role of vice president and assistant general counsel at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
Idoko, who began her legal career at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, has advised on the capital raise or maintenance of real estate, infrastructure, private equity and credit products with values ranging between $200 million to $14 billion, according to Gibson Dunn.
“I look forward to starting the next chapter of my career at Gibson Dunn,” Idoko said. “I’ve known Shukie and others on the team for several years and have always respected their collaborative nature, pursuit of excellence, and excellent lawyering. The firm’s stellar reputation and formidable investment funds practice made this an easy decision.”
