Karen Wilson Thissen will join General Mills Inc. as general counsel and corporate secretary, the company announced Tuesday.
She succeeds Richard Allendorf, who will be retiring in August, according to General Mills.
Thissen joins from Ameriprise Financial Inc., where she served as executive vice president and was named general counsel in 2017, according to the announcement.
She began her legal career a Faegre & Benson where she was named a partner in the business litigation group, according to General Mills.
