GE Avoids Paying Benefits to Ex-Executive of Acquired Company

General Electric Co. again defeated a lawsuit by a corporate communications executive who said she wasn’t informed of her retirement benefit options when the conglomerate acquired her company in 2003.

Most claims in Carol Perlman’s 2022 lawsuit were filed too late, and her amended complaint doesn’t include facts that would warrant extending the deadline for her to file suit, Judge Paul A. Engelmayer of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said in a Feb. 16 opinion.
