FTC Gets Partial Victory in Prime Cancellation Process Suit (1)

The US Federal Trade Commission picked up a few legal wins in its suit accusing Amazon.com Inc. executives of making it difficult for Prime users to cancel subscriptions.

The FTC showed that the Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act applies to Prime, Judge John H. Chun in Seattle said in a Wednesday opinion partially granting the agency’s motion for summary judgment. The US District Court for the Western District of Washington judge also rejected Amazon’s argument that company executives couldn’t be held liable for potential ROSCA violations.
