FTC Chairman Joseph Simons to Depart Commission on January 29

Federal Trade Commission Chairman Joseph J. Simons announced his resignation today, effective January 29, 2021, according to statement.

• Simons also says a number of other senior staff will depart from the FTC, including General Counsel Alden F. Abbott, Bureau of Competition Director Ian Conner and Bureau of Consumer Protection Director Andrew Smith
• NOTE: Simons was sworn in as Chairman of the FTC on May 1, 2018
