A former general counsel of the District of Columbia Retirement Board claims that the agency fired her after she reported potential conflicts of interest involving two investment advisory companies the agency contracted with.
The whistleblower complaint involves the board’s connection to Artemis Real Estate Partners, an investment management company that the board contracted with, according to a complaint filed Tuesday with the US District Court for the District of Columbia. In 2020, the board had approved a commitment of up to $60 million to Artemis to invest on its behalf, the complaint says.
