Ford Motor Co. has named Latham & Watkins partner and former Obama administration lawyer Steven Croley as its new chief policy officer and general counsel beginning on July 12.
Croley succeeds John Mellen, a 40-year Ford veteran who postponed his retirement to become the company’s general counsel last August after the Detroit-based automaker’s former legal chief Bradley Gayton left for The Coca-Cola Company. Gayton abruptly departed Coke in April, while Mellen will officially leave Ford on Sept. 1, according to a Wednesday statement.
