Foley Hoag Adds Ex-DOJ Prosecutor Safwat as Washington Partner

Adam Safwat has joined Foley Hoag as a partner in the firm’s white collar crime and government investigations practice in Washington, the firm said Monday.

Safwat, a former deputy chief of the Justice Department’s fraud section, focuses on companies and individuals facing government investigations involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, US economic sanctions laws, as well as political corruption, the Foreign Agent Registration Act, securities laws, and financial fraud, according to the firm.

His clients include pharmaceutical, healthcare and energy companies, the firm said.

He joins from Nelson Mullins.
