Republican leaders on two House committees overseeing cryptocurrency policy will unveil their digital asset market structure bill later this week, with plans to mark it up next week, House Agriculture Chair Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-Pa.) said Tuesday.
Thompson and Rep. Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.), the committee’s digital asset czar, said the bill will resemble a framework drafted with the Financial Services Committee. The draft details when a digital asset is a security regulated by the SEC, versus a commodity regulated by the CFTC.
