Fidelity Investments Agrees to Pay $2.5 Million Over Data Breach

Fidelity Investments Inc. will pay $2.5 million to settle a proposed class action alleging it failed to protect the personal information of more than 155,000 people that was exposed in a 2024 data breach, under a deal given initial approval in a federal court.

Class members would be eligible for up to $5,000 in reimbursement for documented monetary losses from the breach, two years of credit monitoring services, and a pro rata cash payment of around $100, according to the plaintiffs’ motion for preliminary approval of the deal filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of ...
