The federal judiciary “continues to have concerns” about bipartisan legislation designed to make U.S. court documents free to the general public.
“I respectfully request the Senate defer consideration of this bill until we have had further discussions with you on a legislative approach that will meet the needs of the federal Judiciary and the public and also address the concerns of Congress,” Roslynn Mauskopf, the director of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts wrote in a Jan. 11 letter to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.)
