Tamara Giwa has been named the executive director of the Federal Defenders of New York, according to a Thursday news release.
Giwa, who is currently the director of strategic litigation, will start her term on April 1. She has also practiced as a staff attorney at the Brooklyn Family Defense Project as well as with the criminal defense practice at the Legal Aid Society, the Federal Defenders of New York said.
