College Admissions DEI Survey Blocked for Public Schools (1)

A Massachusetts federal judge blocked the Education Department from requiring public colleges in 17 states to complete a survey on the use of race and gender in admissions.

The Trump administration had thrust the new Admissions and Consumer Transparency Supplement survey on the higher education world in a “rushed and chaotic manner” due to a presidentially decreed 120-day deadline rather than a thoughtful manner that accounted for college’s compliance concerns, Senior US District Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV said Friday.

The preliminary ruling blocks the agency from forcing public schools in the states to respond to the new survey.
