The Federal Reserve’s interest rate cut has cleared the way for private companies that were waiting for a green light to jump into the US initial public offering market.

Firms from the technology sector to the services industry are expected to publicly file for IPOs or kick off marketing for such deals in the coming days and weeks after Wednesday’s rate cut, according to industry watchers. Plenty of candidates weighing fall debuts had been waiting for the decision, while also monitoring the performances of newly-public firms, which have had mixed results.
