Fairfax Insurance Units, Heating Oil Class Toss Coverage Fight

Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. insurance units and a group of plaintiffs seeking coverage for an underlying class action over substandard home heating fuel agreed to end their dispute, after a federal appeals court held the insurers had a duty to defend the heating oil company.

The underlying class members, along with US Fire Insurance Co. and North River Fire Insurance Co., filed a stipulation of dismissal with prejudice March 20 in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
