EyeMed Vision Care is set to pay $5 million to settle a class action that came after hackers broke into the vision benefits company’s email account and used it to send phishing messages.
The 2020 data breach revealed the names, contact info, birthdays, and the Medicaid, Medicare or Social Security numbers of EyeMed members, according to the US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, which gave preliminary approval to the accord Tuesday.
