Ex Justice Department Civil Division Chief Joins Alston & Bird

Alston & Bird has hired Joseph “Jody” Hunt, who recently stepped down from his position as the top lawyer in the U.S. Justice Department’s civil division. Hunt, previously chief of staff for former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, spearheaded the legal defense of many Trump administration policies.

Defensive Work: Hunt will be a senior counsel in Alston & Bird’s litigation and trial practice group in both Atlanta and Washington. He racked up experience in high profile matters over the roughly two years he spent as the civil division boss.
