Obama-era secretary of labor and former Democratic National Committee chair Thomas Perez has joined Venable’s Washington office as a partner, the firm announced Thursday.
Perez was elected chair of the DNC in 2017 and declined to seek a second term in January. He was previously the U.S. secretary of labor beginning in 2013, and before that he was the Department of Justice’s assistant attorney general and head of its Civil Rights Division.
