Rod Rosenstein, a former acting US attorney general during President Donald Trump’s first administration, has joined Baker McKenzie from King & Spalding.
Rosenstein is a decades-long Justice Department veteran who served under multiple administrations, before joining King & Spalding in 2020. He is known for his decision in 2017 to appoint Robert Mueller as a special counsel to investigate Russian government efforts to influence the 2016 election.
He will lead the national security practice at Baker McKenzie, one of the largest global law firms by headcount and revenue.
“We are thrilled to add Rod to our team in Washington, DC, and his background perfectly augments our white-collar defense and investigations capabilities,”
Colin Murray, Baker McKenzie’s North America chief executive, said in a statement. “Clients looking for nuanced guidance on major investigations and sensitive matters will find Rod’s experience and knowledge indispensable.”
