A small company that repairs McFlurry ice cream machines and is taking on McDonald’s Corp. in court wants a judge to reject its former law firm’s request for at least $7 million in fees.

Kytch Inc. this week opposed an arbitrator’s order freezing funds from a potential multimillion-dollar settlement with McDonald’s that the law firm Clare Locke believes it is entitled to. The litigation boutique, which initially represented Kytch in a false advertising and trade libel suit against McDonald’s, sued the company over fees that could instead go to Kytch’s new counsel.
