Ex-CBS Compliance Chief Joins Plagiarism-Detection Firm Turnitin

Turnitin LLC, an education technology company that specializes in anti-plagiarism software, announced Monday its hire of Hazel-Ann Mayers as new general counsel and corporate secretary.

Mayers, who most recently served as chief business ethics and compliance officer at CBS Corp., joins Oakland, Calif.-based Turnitin at a time of dramatic growth for education technology companies due to the coronavirus pandemic. Mayers is also an adjunct professor at the Fordham University School of Law, where she teaches the course “The Role of General Counsel: Counselor, Strategist and Mentor.”
