Erik Smith joined Eversheds Sutherland as a partner in its intellectual property practice, the firm announced Wednesday.
At the firm, Smith will focus on IP asset-based secured financial transactions, strategic patent and trademark portfolio counseling and prosecution, and identification of patents for use in monetization strategies based on market opportunities, the firm said.
He joins from Fortress Investment Group, where he served as director of IP finance.
